About Us/Our Facility High Desert Equine Center is a 40 acre ranch located 30 miles northeast of Reno, Nevada, in the picturesque Palomino Valley. We are dedicated to the American Bashkir Curly Horse and strive to achieve the heights of equine breeding. We looked far and wide for stallions that we feel certain will help us accomplish this goal. We currently stand three stallions, all different in build and style, yet all of superior quality in temperment and conformation, as well as way of going. We are constantly seeking outstanding mares and continuously upgrading. We look forward to the challenges the future will bring and only wish to do this breed justice. Our facility is full service, offering everything one is looking for in superior equine services. We offer boarding, training, lessons and layovers in addition to breeding and sales and will soon be offering semen collection services as well. Our current facility boasts a 150'X 300' lighted outdoor arena, two solid wall round pens, 60' and 100'. Large group paddocks with run in sheds and automatic waterers, private shed row facilities with runs and a small barn with a few full indoor matted stalls with runs. We have plenty of trails, trail obstacles set up, a few practice jumps and lots of trailer parking. We feed excellent quality grass/alfalfa hay 2X daily. We will be building our new facility, just 4 miles from our current location, right off of Pyramid Hwy and Whiskey Springs Rd throughout 2012 and plan to open by the Fall of 2012. It will be a state of the art facility with multiple indoor arenas, an extra large outdoor arena and superior housing for your horses. Watch for updates! We love to have visitors to the ranch.
